Confessions of NaLu

"Hey, Lucy let's go for an adventure now!!" Natsu ran into the classroom and slammed her table.
"But I'm still eating!!"
"We have to go NOOWWW. There's rumors about these weird creatures running about and I heard one of them is running around somewhere near the school now!!!" Natsu grabbed Lucy's arm and ran out.
"M-my lunch!! ;_;"

"Hehe. Once I catch it I'll be the first to discover what it really is!! I'll be super famous!! And RICH!!"
"Oh don't be silly, Natsu. There's no such thing!"

They stopped at the entrance of the school panting.
"Is it okay for us to leave just like that? Won't principal Happy be looking for us?"
"Don't worry, I bribed him into letting us go!" He took out some Tuna biscuits from his pocket.
"Oh bother" Lucy face palmed.
They heard a noise in the bushes.
"That must be it!!" Natsu ran towards the bushes.
"W-wait Natsu!!"
Someone came out of the bushes and Natsu was knocked to the ground.
"H-hey!!" Natsu cried.
"Who are you??" Lucy was staring at a handsome blonde haired man wearing a formal school uniform.

"Sting." Sting was writing out some things on some pieces of paper and didn't bother to look at them.

"Aaaand??" Lucy frowned.
"I'm here to collect reports on the status of every school. I'm from Sa--" Sting looked up and paused at the sight of Lucy.
He blushed for a second and coughed while looking back at his report.
"That explains the weird rumors" Natsu got up. He crossed his arms and stood next to Lucy.
"Now will you excuse me, I have another school to investigate. I don't need to stay here with a bunch of losers" Sting walked away.
"Why you--" Natsu raged
"Natsu, let him be," Lucy grabbed his shoulder
"But--"
"Some rich people are like that..." Lucy's voice trailed off.
Natsu sighed. They walked back to class after a moment of silence.

"Sting, who was that girl just now?" Rogue came out of the bushes after the two students went back to class.
"I don't understand what she's doing in that school, but she's definitely Lucy Heartfilia. My dad used to be in good terms with her's" Sting kept writing on his report.
"Well, she's a sight" Rogue looked at the sky. Sting stopped writing and looked at him. He looked back at his report and stared at it.
"Yeah, maybe I'll ask her out for prom this Saturday."

"Is that an invitation?" Juvia asked Lucy while they were eating their lunch the next day.
"Yeah, I found it in my locker. It's an invitation to the Sabertooth Academy Prom this Saturday, and it's open to high school students outside the academy. I wonder who its from."
"I-I-I-I-INVITATION???P-P-P-P-P-PROM??G-G-G-G-GRAY SAMA??!!" Juvia went wild.
"C-calm down, Juvia. It's not Gray. I don't know who it is,"
"JUVIA MUST GO OUT FOR PROM WITH GRAY SAMA BEFORE ANYONE ELSE INVITES HIM!!" Juvia took off and searched for Gray.
Lucy sighed and turned the card around. There was another message on it. Handwritten. It said "Meet me in front of the bushes where we first met after school"

Lucy had a bad feeling about this.

After school she went to the place she met Sting and found him standing at the exact same place he was standing before, hands in his pockets. He stepped forward and out of the shadows, she could see his face clearly. His hair was golden, he had high cheekbones and smooth skin. She couldn't help but stare. She felt herself blush and shook herself to reality.

"Sorry to trouble you," Sting's grim expression didn't change.
"I-its okay, so why invite me? I've never met you before, and neither have you"
"I've never met you, but I know you. Our dads used to be good friends a long time ago. I guess its fate to meet you here." Sting looked away blushing, but his face still grim. "So do you accept my offer? Would you like to be my prom date? My dad'll be glad to see the daughter of his best friend."
"I-I.." Lucy blushed and looked down.
Sting stepped forward, took Lucy's hand and kissed it. "I think you're very beautiful"
She looked away, trying not to make eye contact. "I'll think about it..."
He let go of her hand. "Okay, but for now, I'll take it as a yes. Even if you don't accept, you could at least see my dad for a while. Have a good day, Lucy." He smiled and walked away.

Natsu was hiding behind the bushes. He heard everything.

On that Saturday night, Lucy was standing in front of the mirror wearing a long sleeveless bedazzled red evening gown, red earrings and matching pearl necklace and bracelet. Her hair was tied up into a princess like hairdo, with a red ribbon. She was ready to go.

Natsu was wearing a tuxedo he borrowed from Loki.
"Ughh this is so tight" Natsu pulled his tie.
"Don't ruin it!! How are you gonna attract the ladies?? Besides, that's loose enough." Loki was sitting in his couch, ready in his tuxedo.
"I'm not there for the ladies!! And this tie is making me feel sick."
"Alright alright, take it off. Don't say I didn't warn you."

Juvia was wearing a blue long sleeveless evening dress and a small tiara.
"JUVIA IS HERE GRAY SAMAAA!!!~~~" Juvia waved while running towards him.
"You took so long" Gray gave her a bored expression.
LET'S GOO~~~" Juvia pulled his arm and walked towards the entrance of Sabertooth Academy.

Lucy was amazed by her surroundings. The ballroom was huge. Much bigger than Fairy Tail Academy. There were so many guests.

"Ah there you are, Lucy" Sting left his group of friends and approached her. He was wearing a white tuxedo with his hair gelled to the back. "I see you've accepted my offer." he held her hand. "Guys, meet Lucy Heartfilia. Our dads used to be good friends back in the day." He faced his group of friends, some started whispering to each other, some were in awe. Lucy blushed.

Natsu arrived minutes later with Loki at the entrance.
"Lucy!!" Natsu waved, but he wasn't smiling.
"Natsu!" Lucy smiled.
He approached Lucy but stopped when he saw Sting. He frowned.
Sting turned around and saw Natsu.
"Well if it isn't the loser. I'm sorry, but she's taken" He smiled and lifted Lucy's hand in his, making it visible to Natsu.
"Tsk, let's go Loki." Natsu turned around and walked away.
"But the ladies here!! >v<"
"N-natsu wait!" Lucy cried.
"Lucy, let's go see my dad" Sting pulled her away. Lucy glanced at Natsu for a moment.

"Ohh come on, Natsu!! There's plenty of beautiful ladies here!!" Loki was sitting in between two girls at the table.
"Like I said, I'm not here for the girls. I'm not interested in any of them"
"Waywaywaywait. Are you saying you're jealous of Sting?"
"Tsk. No. He's just so arrogant that's all." Natsu looked away, his arms crossed. He saw Gray and Juvia dancing with the slow song being played.
Loki saw them too and got an idea. "How about you take her away from him?" he winked.
Natsu stared at Loki, then he smiled evilly. "Great Idea."

Natsu got up and searched for Lucy. There was no sign of her. Suddenly there was silence, and a man appeared on stage.

"SO SO SO COOOL!!! NOW IS THE TIME TO ANNOUNCE THE RESULTS FOR PROM KING AND QUEEN!! COOL!! SO COOL!!"

Everyone started whispering.

"KYA!!! Juvia hopes we get to be King and Queen!! >v<" Juvia squealed.

"EH-EHEM!!! NOW WE'LL ANNOUNCE THE PROM KING FIRST!! THE PROM KING IS..."

Everyone fell silent.

"STIIINGGG EUUCLIFFEE!!!!"
Everyone cheered.
Sting appeared from the crowd and walked up the stage. He was smiling when he had the crown placed on his head. Something was wrong. Very wrong.
"AND NOW!!!TO ANNOUNCE THE PROM QUEEN OF THE NIGHT!! OHH SO COOL!!"

It was silent again.

"CONGRATULATIONS...LUCY HEARTFILIA!!!"
Everyone cheered. Some were sobbing, Some were whispering. Lucy walked up the stage and stood next to Sting. For the first time that night Natsu could actually see her in the light. He never noticed how beautiful she was. He blushed.

Lucy saw Natsu, she looked like she was about to cry. Something really was wrong.

Someone whispered to the host shortly after that. And there was a short silence.

"WELL!! IT SEEMS THERE'S A SPECIAL PRIZE FOR THIS COUPLE!! FROM STING'S OWN FATHER!! YOU TWO WILL BE ENGAGED IN MARRIAGE!! COOOL!!"

"WHATTT???!!" Natsu raged. Everyone looked at him.
"Natsu!!" Lucy cried. "I can explain!!"
He ignored her and jumped up the stage and grabbed Sting's collar.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY TO HER??!!" He spat.
Sting grabbed Natsu's arm and flipped him. Everyone gasped.
"I WON'T LET LUCY GET MARRIED TO THE LIKES OF YOU!!" Natsu got up immediately and punched Sting's face. He flinched and his nose bled.
"NATSU STOP IT!!!" Lucy blocked him before he could punch him again. "If I get married to Sting, my father can have his estate back. He doesn't have to suffer anymore."
"That's right." Sting got up, covering his bleeding nose. "Since you like her so much I'll let you watch us get married then," he laughed.
"Lucy, this isn't what you want!!" Natsu said, his voice sounding like he was about to give up. "I can't stand to see you get married to that jerk!! I'm sorry if I'm too selfish but I know this isn't what you want!! I..." his voice trailed off.

"Natsu..I'm sorry," Lucy was crying.
"But if this is what you want..." he continued. "I guess I have to tell you something." He paused.

"I think I love you."

Lucy gasped and blushed real hard. Natsu turned around and walked away without saying anything else. He left the building alone.

"Natsu..."

The day of the marriage, one week later.

"Natsu, aren't you going for the wedding?" Gray asked. Juvia was behind him curious as always.
"No," he looked out the school window.
"Hey, at lea--"

There was silence, students gasped.

"L-Lucy!!" Natsu got up, surprised.
"Natsu, I'm not getting married." Lucy smiled and walked towards him.
"But your dad!!"
"He's got experience, I know he can do it...besides..." Lucy stopped and blushed. "I have you."
Natsu's eyes widened as she hugged him.

"I love you too, Natsu"
